It's the most wonderful time of the year...

This week Christmas arrived at my house. I can tell it's Christmas because my house is now almost completely covered in glitter, or with things that are themselves covered in glitter. Aside from a beautifully decorated tree, we have strings with cards (and glitter) on them, picture frames covered with tinsel, a remarkable amount of flashing lights and also a sign reminding us how many days we must wait for Santa. Yes, Christmas has arrived.

It been such a great year at Daniel Wragg Photography, I'm kind of sad to see it go. I've had a whole bunch of great shoots and met some really amazing people along the way. I want to say a massive thanks to everyone who invited me to take photographs of them and capture the special moments in their lives. Thank you.

I wish you all the best and hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Shelley and Jack Liddell

Shelley was not looking forward to this shoot. She does not like having her photograph taken...at all. Jack on the other hand loves being photographed, he loves running fast and he loves Ben 10.  With Jacks help, we got some lovely shots of the both of them.

The Naylor Family

What a difference a year makes! I first photographed Tim, Louise and Oliver Naylor a year ago when Oliver was a tiny new born, so i was really excited to catch up and see how they were getting on. Oliver has grown into THE happiest toddler I have ever met, he never stops smiling and laughing.

The Wilson Family

This week I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing the Wilson family.  Josh and Megan were great fun and worked the camera like a pair of seasoned professionals! They were full of energy and loved posing and messing around. We got some great photographs from the shoot, here are a couple of my favorites....

Smoke and Mirrors

This is what happens when photographers are at a loose end....We start to play. I have been planning to take some photographs of smoke patterns for quite a while and with the rain pouring outside, I took my opportunity.

I love the results. I am amazed at such a simple medium as smoke is transformed into these amazing photographs. Maybe I should play around more often.

Although I have not added these images to my main site just yet, prints are available to purchase in a range of sizes up to  24 Inches. Get in touch for more details.

The Kelly Family

It's amazing how much fun you can have with a sheet and a light. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Narrowing the shots down for this blog was incredibly difficult, but here's a few of my favorites....

Clare Glen

The winter is definitely upon us. The leaves are turning and the cold is gently creeping in. The winter months bring with them the most amazing crisp light, a perfect excuse for a stroll through the woods with my trusty camera and my perpetually enthusiastic terrier, Oddball.

Lough Neagh

There is a lovely feeling of calm around dusk at Lough Neagh, the gentle breeze, the sound of the waves gently caressing the shore. It's a beautiful place to just sit and watch the sunset. I've visited numerous times and each time insisted I would return with my camera.

Finally, after many days of waiting, a beautiful clear evening. Seizing the opportunity I set out, camera in tow.

Congratulations!!!

I just want to say a HUGE congratulations to Wendy who has just given birth to the amazing, beautiful Luke. I'm sure she will make an awesome Mum and wish her all the very best. These shots of Wendy were taken just a few weeks ago for a shoot with S.A.K. Designs.

NDCS Film Premier - Flukey Finn

I love working with children and young people, they have so much energy and are always looking to have some fun, which always make for great photographs. I spent Saturday afternoon at the National Deaf Childrens Society Film Premier of Flukey Finn at the Storm Cinema in Belfast. The film was created by deaf teenagers from all around Northern Ireland, with a little help from BBC Blast and First Light Movies.

A New Project.

I've been thinking a lot recently about art, but mostly about the people that are behind the work. What makes them tick? Why do they do what they do? As a photographer I'm always excited to photograph interesting people, so i thought about marrying up the two. I think it would be really great to photograph local artists, whether that be visual artists, musicians, sculptors, anything at all.

I'd really like as many people as possible to get involved. So, if you think you might be interested drop me a line via the contacts page on my website.

Andrea

I always look forward to shooting Andrea, each time get together we have loads of laughs and get some great shots. Although we seem to spend more time laughing than being anything like productive. We did eventually get around to some work with great results.

Country Comes to Town, Portadown.

I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph the annual Country comes to town event this weekend in Portadown. It was such a great day! With the sun was shining (most of the time), we saw some stiff competition and some beautiful animals. There was something for everyone, with tug of war competitions, fair ground rides and, my personal favorite, the numerous food stands. Heres a couple of my favorite photographs from the day, I'll look forward to seeing you all next year.
